Effective 31 October 2026 · This English text is a translation for convenience; the Korean version governs.
History: 31 October 2026 Added parental consent sign-up for children under 14, Kakao, passkey, QR and email-link sign-in, and the free trial, family plan, student discount, gift codes, acorn discount and their refund rules / 18 October 2026 First version
1. Purpose
- These terms govern the PineLingo language-learning service (https://pinelingo.app, the "Service") provided by Solhyang Design (the "Company"), and the rights and duties of the Company and its users.
2. Definitions
- "User" means anyone using the Service, with or without an account.
- "Member" means a user who signed up with email, a Google account or a Kakao account.
- "Premium" means the paid personal subscription without study-time or level limits.
- "Business" means the paid plan in which an organisation buys seats and uses admin features.
3. Changes to these terms
- The Company posts these terms in the Service and announces changes 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavourable to users).
4. The Service
- Language-learning features such as AI Auto Study, Choose & Study, AI Tutor, typing practice and mini games.
- Saving study history and personal study stats for the learner; seat and course management for organisations.
- Free users can study 10 minutes a day at the easy level, within limits set by the Company.
5. Accounts
- If you are 14 or older you can create an account yourself (13 or older in the United States). Signing up with Google or Kakao for the first time confirms you are 14 or older.
- Children under 14 need the consent of a parent or legal guardian. We email the guardian a consent request and activate the account only after they agree on the consent page. Until then the child cannot sign in; if the guardian declines or does not answer within 7 days, the request and its data are deleted without delay (while consent emails cannot be sent, we do not accept sign-ups from children under 14). Accounts of children under 14 found without consent are deleted without delay. Studying without an account needs no personal data.
- Sign-in methods: email and password, Google, Kakao, passkeys, QR sign-in (approving a computer sign-in from your signed-in phone) and email sign-in links, as offered on screen. Approve a QR sign-in only when you are at that computer yourself, and never use a QR code or sign-in link someone else sent you.
- Members must sign up with accurate information and keep their password safe.
- Members can delete their account at any time from the bottom of the "My page" screen. Study history and account data are deleted immediately and any automatic payment stops.
6. Paid plans and renewal
- Premium is a monthly or yearly subscription that renews automatically on the same cycle until cancelled.
- Personal subscriptions are sold by Paddle.com Market Ltd as Merchant of Record. Business seats are paid by bank transfer with a tax invoice.
- Members can cancel renewal at any time on "My page" and keep Premium until the paid period ends.
- The Company may offer a discount during cancellation; if accepted, renewals are charged at the discounted price for the stated period.
- Free trial: first-time subscribers get 3 days of Premium free, once per member. We remind you 1 day before it ends; cancel during the trial and you are not charged, otherwise the chosen plan is charged when the trial ends.
- Family plan: the paying member plus up to 3 invited accounts (4 in total) share Premium (KRW 19,900/month or 149,000/year, VAT included). Study records stay private to each member; members can leave at any time and the payer can remove them. Members lose Premium when the family plan ends.
- Student discount: members who verify a school email (.ac.kr, .edu, etc.) pay 30% less for Premium. Verification lasts one year; without renewal, later renewals are charged at the regular price. Discounts obtained through false verification may be cancelled.
- Gift codes: 1-month (KRW 12,900) and 12-month (KRW 89,000) Premium gift codes unlock Premium for that period on the account that redeems them, without auto-renewal. An account with a paid subscription still running can redeem after that period ends.
- Time-limited offers: e.g. the launch offer gives first-time payers of yearly Premium 30% off the first year until 30 November 2026 23:59 (Korea time) and ends automatically. One discount applies per payment.
- Acorns: acorns credited by our server for study time (1 per minute, up to 20 a day) can be used at 100 acorns = KRW 1,000 for up to 10% of a KRW payment. Acorns have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and playground acorns stored only on a device cannot be used. Acorns obtained by abuse may be removed.
7. Withdrawal and refunds
- Refunds follow the separate Refund Policy. Statutory consumer rights take precedence over these terms.
8. AI features
- AI-made lessons, audio and answers can be wrong. Check official sources for exams, work or other important decisions.
- Do not enter personal or sensitive information into the AI Tutor.
9. User obligations
- Users must not misuse the Service or copy, distribute or sell its lessons, audio or other content without permission.
10. Content rights
- Rights in the lessons, audio, design and software belong to the Company or their rightful owners. Lessons based on public-domain works credit their source.
- Copyright complaints: if you believe content in the Service infringes your copyright, send your contact details, the work, and the URL of the material to solhyang98@gmail.com. We remove it promptly and tell you the outcome.
11. Changes or suspension
- The Company may change or stop the Service for operational or technical reasons. Paid users are notified in advance of unfavourable changes and refunded for the remaining period.
12. Limitation of liability
- The Company is not liable for losses caused without its intent or negligence, such as natural disasters, user fault, or outages of third-party payment or cloud services.
13. Governing law
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes go to the court of competent jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
